I struggled with the words to put here but I couldn't not write anything. This year without you is unbearable and there are so many milestones to get through. I know you would want me to be strong for my family and myself, believe me I am trying, but inside I want to scream you name until you stand by my side once more. Happy Christmas Dad, maybe this year you will finally enjoy it with mum. xxx

My father kept a garden
A garden of the heart
He planted all the good thing
That gave my life a start
He turned me to the sunshine
And encouraged me to dream
Fostering and nurturing the seeds of self esteem
And when the wind and rain came
He protected me enough
But not so much because he knew
I would stand up strong and tough
His constant good example
Always taught me right from wrong
Markers for the pathway that would last my lifetime long
I am my fathers garden
To him I will be true
Thank you Dad for tending me
And just for being you.

The love we have for Grandad
Will never fade away.
We'll think of him, our special friend
Throughout each passing day.
We'll walk into the room
And see his empty chair;
Although we know he's resting,
We'll feel his presence there.
The memories of his laughter,
His warm and loving smile,
His eyes so full of happiness,
His heart that of a child.
Memories are forever
Be they laughter or of tears,
Memories we will treasure
Through all the forthcoming years.
